Two more weeks before the carnival!

 

 

Just a quick reminder to ask all of you to check the side bar and make sure your name is on the participants list. Also check that the link to your blog is correct.

 

We are hearing about some really creative and fabulous carnivals out there. Some of you are already done! I hope the coming first day of Fall this Saturday inspires you.

 

If you haven't checked out any of the links on the sidebar under Curiosities you might want to take a look. There are 2 amazing carnival weddings and a couple of very cool artists that might give you a few ideas.

 

Here are two to inspire you.

 

 

HBO ran a dark supernatural drama called Carnivale from 2003 to 2005. I never saw it or knew about it until now so I watched some of the episodes online. If you like your carnival creepy this is a great show to find inspiration. I love the gritty, artsy look of this carnival and definitely got a few ideas after watching it.

 

 

If your carnival is more whimsical there is this classic piece by French Post-Impressionist Henri Rosseau. 'Carnival Evening' (1885-1886) is the quintessential carnival in the woods. It just needs a few pumpkins!

Get your tickets

Hi everyone. Just under one month left before the carnival! The first signs of fall can be seen here and there....an early morning chill and the golden late afternoon sunlight are sure signs of my favorite season. I already bought my first pumpkin the other day. Yay!

Our guest list is filling up but there is always lots of room in the haunted woods for another carnival lover. If you're here to sign up simply scroll down to the previous post, read the directions and leave a comment on that post.

Marfi and I have been busy creating carnival goodies and I know some of you are already working on yours too. I just wanted to share a preview to give you a little inspiration.

We asked you to create your own silver ticket. You can see I didn't stop with just one when I started working on mine! I'm also including a blank ticket template for anyone that might want to use it. You're welcome to print it and use however you like. Of course we would love to see you create your own too. We can't wait to see all those magical silver tickets!

Join us this year for our first carnival in the haunted woods. We love carnivals and Halloween is the perfect time to go traipsing into the forest to hold an autumn blog party. Candy floss and ferris wheels go perfectly well with witches and jack-o-lanterns in our book. We couldn't resist adding a little bit of dark mystery to the traditional candy colored carnival world. So join us if you dare. A silver ticket is all we require. We would be delighted to have you and we promise you an enchantingly wicked good time.
